BURGUNDY
BAND (International) |
Chicuque Rural Hospital, Mozambique:
Funds help to meet the operating costs of this UM Hospital
which has been in existence for 50 years.
Lee Memorial Girls School, India:
This is a residential school for girls in an area where
girls' education is largely overlooked.

RED BAND
(USA) |
Warren Village, Denver, Colorado:
This program provides essential services to low income
single parents and nearly 400 children under 12, who reside
in the city, and helps them to become independent and
self-sufficient.

ORANGE
BAND (UMCOR) |
Disaster Response: Funds are used to
provide emergency aid for disasters (earthquakes, tsunamis,
hurricanes, floods, etc.) which occur somewhere in the world
every three days.
CIEMAL Street Children Projects,
Brazil: This program works with mothers and children in the
slums of Brazil, providing them with job training skills and
schooling, as well as food and shelter.

Six programs which provide opportunities for
children to learn about and make contributions to a select
group of mission programs chosen by children to help
children. |

GREEN BAND

Illinois Conference) |
Hidden Treasures of Phoebe's Place:
This is a faith-based Alzheimer-Specific Adult Day Care
Service housed at Maple Park UMC, Chicago.
Abounding Ministries: The Rev. Rich
Rubietta, founder of Abounding Ministries, is an Evangelist
Circuit Rider who travels church to church to introduce
creative worship music. He has a full-time, non-salaried
position with the Northern Illinois Annual Conference.

(Chicago
Northwestern District) |
Sarah's Inn: Their mission is to
decrease the effects of domestic violence, and to work
toward its elimination. The agency's principle objective is
to help women help themselves and their children.
West Suburban PADS: provides food,
shelter, supportive services, and housing to homeless
individuals and families. In addition to funding, RFUMC
provides dinner for this program.

BAND (Local) |
Proviso Pantry, OP/RF Food Pantry, Forest
Park Pantry: Funds are needed for food and expenses for
these groups to provide food for needy families.
Maywood Fine Arts Center: offers
music, art, and sport programs to enhance the lives of
children.
Oak Park Walk-in Ministries: a new
ministry providing counseling and other support services to
those in need.

Food Pantries/PADS
Proviso Pantry: while housed at
Cosmopolitan Church, 1112 N. 9th Avenue, Melrose Park, the Proviso
Pantry is largely staffed by members and friends of River Forest
United Methodist Church.
Forest Park Pantry:
Oak Park/River Forest Pantry:
West Suburban PADS : Members and
friends of RFUMC participate as a food team for this program. Once
a month, we provide and serve dinner to the guests who are housed at
St. Eulalia Church.
Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
RFUMC sent a team down to Gulfport, Mississippi in
March 2006 and is planning on sending another team in March 2007.
